Yup justice zero has it right, Silat is from indonesia. Ready for a little history lesson? Good I'm gonna tell you readers anyway haha . The Dutch tried to take the Indonesians country. The Dutch are large people, however the Indonesians are very short, example, a normal sized American would be considered a giant in their country. The Dutch lost the war because of Silat. Silat is focusing on staying low, extremely low to the ground. The Dutch weren't used to how Indonesia is mainly rainforest, so, They didn't even know what hit them. (I know it's not very Detailed but that's the best I can do) That's a little brief history on Silat. Oh my GI came in yesterday, and I will say, it's a very nice GI, very very nice. It fits well, after a little shrinking, and the jacket is a bit hot but not bad. I would recommend this GI for anyone looking for a heavyweight.

I think the gi is a competition cut?

The gi I ordered is 450 grams. I think that's per meter. I'm not to worried about the weight but more the heat. I was going to buy a lightweight for summer and use the heavyweight for winter.

Oh also the GI is a pearl weave, does anyone know how soft that would be? And how much it will shrink if at all in case It's so big on me?

In the summer I probably won't wear it that often, as our dress code is you have to wear all black but it's not strictly enforced. I will have to post a few pictures of the GI when it comes in. It shouldbye here on thursday. Xo-karate, do you know how much your heavy judo gi weighs?

We do a lot of Silat, everying is mixed in so we do a lot of defense and some offense. The others wear a standered gi that the program buys for you. But there very cheap. You not nessisarily have to wear a gi. Probably what we do mostly is muay Thai and Silat. We do a lot of ground work also

Hello all, I need a gi preference, I ordered the "core jiu jitsu gi" from mma outlet.com, not knowing its a super heavyweight gi.... Is that good for a white belt? I started mma a few months ago, around january. Im a 13 year old girl, 5.6, around 140 pounds, so i ordered a A2. I consider myself strong, as I can pick up and carry my 110 pound friend around, I'm just not sure if that extra weight is going to be harder to move and kick in? My classes do muay Thai jiu jitsu karate Kali c-lot judo and bondo (I think that's how you spell it). Any input is appreciated! Need help A.S.A.P thanks
