  1. Strangulation or choking techniques or anything involving the neck should not be practiced unless a qualified instructor is present. Especially if you’re a beginner. I suggest you go see a doctor if the pain persists.
  2. Non-martial Artis sometimes say things because they fell threatened in some way. . I just ignore it. Well, Evan somebody how is not trained in ground fighting our has no intent to going to the ground. In a real fight not a organized fight, when 2 body’s are moving at each other at 150mph trying to overkill each other they clash and end up grappling. Because in real fight people move forward and attack each other simultaneously. Sometimes people just trip and fall . But it is definitely a possibility to KO somebody with one punch; it happens and is something everybody should try for. I just haven’t seen it done with somebody fighting back. It almost always ends up in grappling range. And thanks to tournaments like the UFC our Pride, The general Joe blow not a martial Artist knows now that swiping your opponent’s legs and taking him to the ground and mounting him is very effective. This is just my opinion....
  3. Well, I do believe in my experience that 99% of fights do end up on the ground. But its also true 100% of them start standing. In, tournaments such as the UFC, Pride etc… I think it’s very effective and smart to, take the fight to the ground. For me anyway because I fell more comfortable at that level, But for street confrontations I would rather choose to be on my feat, for the following reasons 1) ground fighting is not effective for multiple opponents, its like playing two games at once 2) the possibility of getting stabbed at that range is very high, 3) wrestling on concrete is very painful, make sure you have some pants on. 4) You generally don’t want to wrestle somebody on the street, you want to knock him out, end it as quick as possible. But despite my opinions I still believe staying in the standing grappling range is better than kicking and punching range in any confrontation. for my body type anyway.
  4. I think people fight out of hurt Pride. They need justification to make them fell better by kicking the crap out of somebody. They’re a lot of psychological factors. Ranging from low self esteem to mentally abused people.
