Go to thunder Ranch in San Antonio TX , or Frontsight near Las Vegas NV . I find it funny when people talk about how is it is to shoot , especially accurately when they don't even own a gun !
-
Guns are a martial weapon and have been so for the better part of a thousand years . I do carry , especially at work. I work in a gun range / shop by the way. For the life of me , I cannot understand why some traditional martial artists are against guns , but love swords , bows , nunchucks , etc.... PS . 45acp is the way to go , but 10mm's and 40's work too. lol
-
I think he just explained the concept of a true street fight. He who has the biggest toys , most knowledge , and willingness to use it wins ! Nunchucks aren't going to be encountered too often , pocket knives oh the other hand.....
-
I was afraid that I was all alone when it came to guns. lol I have 1 AKM - Semi auto NOT FULLY ! 1. SKS 1 . CZ-52 pistol 7.62x25 ? several fighting sticks 1. Synthetic Tonfa 1 Foam covered nunchuck ???? Numerous knives 1 partially completed sword project . and a lot of other odds and ends.

These weapons are too traditional for me . I love the sword , tonfa , and bo, but they are not the primary weapons of mos modern people including myself. I prefer firearms , knives , collapsable batons. There is nothing wrong with learning the more traditional weapons , but most of them are impractical for carry and use. I thought that some of you who think otherwise, should know guns were used by Samurai to limited extent , this fighting style is called tettojutsu .

Catch-as-Catch-Can Wrestling

1. Yes , I know what worked match is . That's why I mentioned that BOTH Gotch and thesz were pro wrestlers . 2 . I said that if Mat has done what HE claims to have done , then his tapes SHOULD be of some value . I did not and do not personally endorse him because I do not know very much about him . 3 . I respect Thesz's grappling capabilities , he was a great hooker ( You should know what is) , HOWEVER , he was not the greatest . I personally would not have wanted to square off with either of the two mentioned combatants , they were both very dangerous men in their hayday. -

1. I'm not going to argue with about this . Carl Gotch is considered the God of wrestling in Japan , thesz is not ! They were BOTH pro wrestlers and what Pro wrestling calls hookers / shooters . 2. I said IF Matt furey has done what HE claims to have done training wise , then his tapes would be worth having . I did NOT endorse him , I did recommend MR. Gotch . 3. You have been rather abusive from the start , if you disagree with me that is fine . WE ALL have a RIGHT to our opinions , we do not have the right to bash / flame others because we disagree . 4 . Do not accuse me of misinforming anyone when you haven't produced any proof to contradict what I have posted thus far. Have a nice day -

First it's Frank Gotch, not Carl Gotch that gets respect in the catch world..and secondly, save your money and steer away from Matt Furey's stuff...it is more of a marketing thing. That would be like studying Tae bo so you can kickbox better. Sir , I have spent quite a bit of time studying wrestling , and am familiar with BOTH Gotch's ( they are not kin to each other) Carl is an absolute bad ass , he makes Lou Thesz look like a wimp ! Here is a link to Tony cecchines Catch as catch can wrestling website , you guys might consider looking into it. http://www.catchwrestle.com/abouticwa.htm -

I am familiar with it , but have not personally trained in this style . If matt furey has trained under Carl Gotch like he says he has , then your money will be well spent. Carl is to wrestling what Helio is to jujitsu. -
HMMMM , that's like saying any moron who can throw a decent punch or kick can hurt someone. My point is this , if you don't want a gun , fine , just don't bash those who do .

I plan on getting a Sig P228 9m .... (of course I am getting instruction) No, can't say I will be feeling any more insecure or discomfort. On the contrary..... Watch out KickChicks got a gun! ... hmmm, wonder if they teach gun kata around here Good gun , but I prefer Glocks or Springfield 1911's . RB , Americans as a whole do NOT have access to assualt rifles . An actual assualt rifle is capable of firing both semi and fully automatically. For a civilian to own an assualt rifle , he / she would have to file a class 4 (?) form , have a Chief Law Enforcement Officer / CLEO sign the form okaying that individual , then send the forms to ATF for approval . That will take between 3 and 6 month's , the tax stamp cost $200.00 by the way. Assuming that all of that has gone through , the person can expect to pay at least $6,000.00 for an AK , and more for an M-16. I work in a gunshop currently , have a gunsmithing degree , and love to shoot , but if you still doubt me , please visit ATF'S website or call them. Handguns are normally designed for a wide range of uses including self defense , which what most civilians buy them for , just like most civilians who train in MA do so for self defense reasons.
