  1. Having worked as a "bouncer" (i prefer doorman) for three years in a deprived area , i never in that time involved myself in a fight , i controled many situations by being swiched on and anticipating the problems just before they happen . also i think you can make a bad situation worse ,my advice is keep calm stay alert and try to handle any violence with restaint . this will get you respect rather than recriminations. it also helps keep you out of jail.
  2. I think that there are many reasons that people fight, many fight out of some form of frustration be it their personal lives, not having a good job ,relationships etc I think that society dictates that if we dont have a good job ,big house ,flash car, pretty girl ect then were failing in some way! a lot of people dont have the self worth to understand that all these things are pointless and that less is more,I think that if we could just be happy with what weve got then the world would be a better place. thats not to say that we shouldnt try to better our selves but just try to realize that being content is priceless!!!!!!!!!
  3. I practice wado ryu in the uk its quite popular here . there does'nt seem to be that many practyicing it in the states thuogh? I think its an underestimated style ,traditional wado ryu is a good mix of strikes, locks, holds, pressure points etc i know that is now quite sport orientated has this watered it down in the states? is this the norm or is my sensei the exeption to the rule hope not

  5. sounds to me that there may be more to this than meets the eye your sensei is giving you the runnaround there seems to be a history between him and his sensei, this and the fact that he's using your teaching to supplement his own does not sit right at all. i think you should be very careful . most experienced sensei change and adapt kata but they still use the theme of what they were taught ,i hav'nt heard of many just" making it up as they go along"(to quote monty python).
