  1. I do know what you mean! Trust me Master Chase is not a Black Belt factory. His website is http://chasekarate.com you can find his number on the website. he would be glad to Talk. Grand Master Chase is an Angi Uezu 9th Degree Black Belt. and he does it Uezu's way, but he does it.
  2. I do not know if you have found a school yet. I also don't know Master Kim, but I do know Hanshi Chris... Chase he is the President of the OIKKA. He knows his stuff and seems to be a good guy. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new school to look around. don't just stop after the first school.
  3. I have only had my Dojo a little over four years. I been in karate about 20 years. I also have went through burn outs as a student and instructor. I am always happy/sad when I hear a young third dan is about to open a School. for me the first years were so hard. competing with sports in a small school as soon as someone starts to catch on they quit for baseball and then come back for three months or less until football season starts. living in a SMALL town it's hard to keep new people coming through. I went home and told my wife I was gonna close everyday for the first three years. We take two weeks off in December and the month of July for my mission trips. Every year I was almost forced to start back by my wife and Sensei. This year has not been that way. It is going way to awesome. I think that is the beauty of growing pains. I remember the first three years. The way I dealt with it that I have people of like Styles that I train with. when I am not teaching. I love the Arts and these guy love them as much as I do. I would not workout with an Instructor who never works outside of his dojo. The key I think is like was said earlier, PUSH through it.
  4. I once read that Master Long knew that none of his students would be able to carry on his legacy of leadership so he decided to make it grow the only way his guys knew... through competition. With that being said. What do you know about the the first Three pioneers. how was their relationship? Did they get along? Im sure they did. IF THAT IS TRUE, was Master Long doing what Master Shimabuku did with them or was it different with the Pioneers? Master Mitchum would not be included in the first three because he stayed a lot longer than the other two.
  5. That would be a great idea, but i Think politics would hinder that also.
