I Don't think you offended anyone. Okay I get it.
-
I think starting a new one while quiting the other one would be bad cause you can't know if you like the second even less. But "making you someone who isn't really good at anything", even thought you have done something for a short time, doesn't make you bad at it.

I'd say Kyokushin . I know I like it! I don't know anything about the other one thought...
-
Go ahead, there's many opinion on that is it better to start one and learn to be very good at that, or take two or more when you might not get as good asthe other one. But usually it only gives you more ways to see stuff that you're learning.

It's obvious, not everyone could do it, but if you complete it, you'll get a lot of respect. And is gaining the respect of others the main goal? Chitsu Well of course not, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying. Sorry, I don't mean to offend but - what you saying? What sort of "respect" and from whom? The individual participating in it? or from others? Chitsu I'm not saying you have to want respect, But you'll get it, for sure. I mean Nothing else.

Originally it was thought to be a requirement for 4th or 5th dan but Oyama figured out pretty quick not everyone had the spirit for it. It's now considered the ultimate challenge. Less than 20 people have done it. 17 people are known to have completed the challange. At least most of them were done 3th dan, Loek Hollander propably didnt. Miyuki Miura completed 100 man kumite in a little over three hours.

On review of other sources, Wikipedia was wrong on that. It's straight through, with some reports of a short break at 50- which is as impressive as hell. Yeah, it is! , I thought it sounded little wrong.

Wow! One minute between every kumite?? That's a long time.. I think, if you knockout someone, you can rest the time that you would have left with this partner. And propably after fifty kumites you do want to.

Mas Oyama was the first man to do a 100 man kumite, correct me if I'm wrong. I've also heard that he has don it three days in a row!! : In this 100 man kumite you have to fight with each man certain time, don't have to be able to knockout everyone, but if you do that you can rest till the time is up. So, does anyone know how long is the time??

While it may hurt more than somewhere else, and it may start to get trying after a long sparring session, I still don't feel it's the guy's responsibility to avoid hitting me there. At all. It's a legitimate scoring zone. If I don't like being hit there, I should block it! The last thing I want is for a guy to feel like he has to be all careful cause he's sparring with a girl. I'm not going to learn to be better that way. I don't think it's the most hardest thing to place the "scoring zone" five cents higher. Althought, I do agree with that it's no the guy's responsebility.

How similar is Kyokushin compared to circular Karate styles?

So... Doesn't that mean that I Shouldn't be polite and try not to kick a guy to his inside Thigh(sorry, I'm not very good at english...) unless I'm actually very sure that I will hit the right place. Now, I could almost agree with you, about the first message anyway..But If we're talking about 90 minutes of sparring (I've never used a chest guard, but I doubt that its totally "proof")It may start getting a little uncomfortable, if every partner you're with doesn't even a little try not to hit you strict to chest?? You may have misinterpreted what I was saying. I do not intentionally hit a women in the chest but if it happens they should not be offended. I have been hit in the groin several times while sparring and I am not offended by it...don't like it...but it happens. Also the chest is a scoring area for point sparring, the groin is not. We occasionally do street sparring and the groin is then a target but I would hope my parnter uses discretion which refers back to what I said about not using your partner as a punching bag. I was refearring more to "As far as hitting a woman anywhere different than where you'd hit a man... if they are offended they souldn't be in class." And also you prpably don't get kicks to groin many times in two minutes... I know it's not totally the same thing, but for women it happens like five times or more often than it does for men. Thought I can handel that, it still hurts way more than somewhere else.

I've never heard of that before. Where did you learn that from? He did have 4th dan in judo, and the close association of Daito-ryu with the early roots of judo means that if you were training judo around the 30s-40s pioneering era when Oyama was training it, you were training Daito-ryu to some degree as well. Actually, this is what I've read:Mas Oyama received hismenkyo kaiden - an older form of grade a scroll signifying mastery, from Kotaro(well-known ex-samurai, who was a top-student of Sokaku(known as a founder of jujutsu)at Daito-ryu) This scroll is stil on display at the Honbu dojo in Tokio. Later, Masahiko Kimura ecouraged Oyama to take up judo so that he would have an understanding of the art's ground thecniques. -
I've been doing karate for so little time, that I prbaply would be doing the same things that I am doing right now except karate. So, thank god I train karate now....
-
I think it's depends on what karate it would be... I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the subject, but on what rank are you when you are a gold belt??

Oyama also trained Daito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu So unnecessary to answer to this now... -
