  1. Sorry I dont want you to think that I was trying to attack you. I do understand what you are saying about the newer version of "Shaolin" it does tend to be more flashy and wushu like. The traditional forms though arent really like that.
  2. What style do you train with Richadz? Not all kung fu forms are flashy and non-functional. Forms for all styles are used to practice the technique to build muscle memory and conditioning. If you look at traditional stylist for kung fu you will see a less flashy and more rooted form.
  3. What do you mean no longer accurate or authentic about Shaolin gong fu? I wasnt telling him what he should or shouldnt take, I was just giving suggestions.
  4. It is done with the four front knuckles in the leopard strike position. The leopard strike is the main way that we punch in the branch of choy lay fut that i practice. You will get deeper penetration with it and it also gives you a inch longer on your reach for feints and strikes. If you can pick up the inside kung fu issue with the dragonball evolution on the cover. There is a article in it written by the grand master of my style Tat Mao Wong about the yum tsop.
  5. What is your current style? I started my training in Shoryn-ryu karate and I am now a Choy Lay Fut student. If you want a kung fu style that is close to okinawan karate then I recommend Hung Gar or Shaolin gong fu.
  6. I practice Choy Lay Fut kung fu and we have that inverted strike. It is call a yum tsop. For us it is a quick strike in the leopard fist to the sternum. If do correctly it can be very powerful.
