  1. I have many years experience in BJJ and Luta Livre and through my work get to train at clubs all over the world from local to the top level. I find that the best clubs to train, always have instructors with the best attitudes as well as ability. The ability is essential, but the attitude of an instructor is often a sign of where they are at. If an instructor feels the need to rubbish others, this is often a sign of insecurity on their part. Both styles are great and have different strengths and weaknesses. Just find which you prefer to train or if you are aiming at a specific goal in competition/sefl defense etc, then choose from this angle. hope it works out for you and you find a great place to train. Make sure its a place you enjoy being at. Training is all about enjoyment, that way you can push yourself further! Tim
  2. Hi all, Im new here and new to Karate. Ive trained TKD, Wing Tsun, Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, and in the last 10 years have focused more on BJJ, submission wrestling and MMA. I run a media company, mainly producing martial arts based instruction DVDs, filming tournaments etc. So far, my film work has been centred around MMA/BJJ and Im now wanting to get involved with filming traditional martial arts instruction. Its just something that facinates me personaly, its more than just business! So, my question is, are there in Karate - who would you recomend or who would you like to see instructional filming available with? Are there any top instructors in the UK (my home!) that would be of world interest (guess this forum is worlwide)? If you could train with any instructor (living) and preferably in the UK, who would it be? Sorry for so many questions in my very first post!... my curiosity has led me to this forum. Good to see so many other styles reflected here, will make myself a regular! many thanks - Tim
