  1. If someone does some flashy movements in a fight is only to showoff. and eventually will be hurt if isnt fast enought, i mean really fast.In the KF forms movements are exagerated and they are a chain of techniques, every move involves an act, a defense and an attack or both, a flashy fighter will involve various movements that arent for the fight. like he´ll do like 3 o 4 movements that are irrelevant in the same moment, just to showoff. That´s wrong cos you can have your ass beat up in the middle of that What WC branch are you studiying? thanks for your comment. cheers
  2. What ive meant is that the forms build reflexes that you can apply however you want and in any situation, as not exactly like the form is.. For example.. im a Wing Chun practicioner, and in the forms we learn to keep our centerline in guard...but after you incorpored the forms you can do it without keeping the form stances ... a lot of peoples think that the Kung Fu involves flashy movements in a real fight.. but thats not true... the flashy movements are just for training when youre alone.. thats the form for. salu22222222222
  3. [quote="Kyle-san There's a world of difference between doing a form to build technique and doing a flashy kick at head height that will get you hurt. I agree, but i was just talking about the training system, you can´t apply form movements in a real fight, almost even a kick to the head, but if you can kick very hard to the head(in forms or training)...you´ll have good attributes to kick to the chest in a real fight. sorry about my english
  4. But the fancy moves involves forms, without forms you dont have attributes OR you´ll need to train a lot more, each fancy movement involves a technique, the base of the fancy movements is simple, they are just for training. salute!
  5. Im learning JKD by myself.. with the Inosanto and Paul Vunak videos... i understand the Bruce concepts and where he wanted to go with JKD so i hope all this can help me until i fly to California in a year and a half to study with Inosanto.. by the way im a Wing CHun and Hung Gar practicioner.. Cheers!
  6. I think that the practicioner make the style shine.. if the style lacks of some techniques the practicioner will lack of those techniques...
  7. Thanks people!! and merry christmas and happy new year !
  8. My first post..hi everybody.. There isnt a belt graduation/progress in Wing Chun, you know where you are in the progress scale by the form you are studying. Siu Lim Tao, Chum Kiu, and Biu Gee. There´s an additional form that involves a Mook Yan Jong, or Wooden Monkey. And to finish the system there are two sets of weapons the Look Dim Book Kwan, or six and a half point stick; and the Bot Cham Do, or the 8 ways cutting swords. i´m in Chum Kiu.
