  1. I just read your question. I have been training with Mr. Yokoyama for about 2 years now. He is pretty legit. I would suggest to go to the dojo and check out the workout. I was looking for a Shito Ryu dojo around the Houston area and did not find one close to me. But, I found this dojo, and I am very content with it.!!!!
  2. I really appreciate all your help!!! Yes, I found a really nice place to train. All the senior black belts welcome me with open arms. The Sensei is very knowledgeable and has already thought me a lot in a few months!!! Their website is: http://www.kenshinkai.com/ I would highly recommend this Dojo to anyone that is willing to learn traditional karate!!!
  3. Thanks senseikellam, But Grapevine is north of the Dallas/Forth Worth area. Thanks for the help!!!
  4. What I notice from some of them is that they ask more from the Sensei and they do not want to help teaching the color belts. Some BB do not want to practice basic techniques and they loose interest with basic techniques. It seems to me that they do not want to practice with the color belts. That is sad. As a BB one of your responsibilities is to teach others. I notice this on my self as I teach I also learn from the color belts.
  5. I am a Nidan Shito-Ryu Kuniba kai from Harlingen TX!!!!
  6. I have been training Shito-ryu,Kuniba-kai and Hayashi-ha, since 1990. But for the past 2 years I have been studying Goju ryu.
  7. Thanks!!!! Too bad the website freezes, I will have to go in person and check it up!!!
  8. Thanks!!!!! I will be moving to the Kingwood area. Do you know any nice dojos north of Houston? I am looking for a real good one because I want my 8 year old to start. Have you heard about kenshinkai? It is Shoring ryu dojo in Spring TX? Thanks for your help!!!
  9. Can you tell me about your Dojo. I will be moving to Houston this summer and I am looking for a traditional Japanese Dojo
  10. Hello to all, I will be moving to Houston TX and I am looking for a nice dojo to continue my training. I was looking at your profile P.A.I. There are two types of Shorin-ryu. Can you tell me the difference between both of them? Do you know about the school Kenshin-Kai Shorin-ryu?
  11. I just saw your post. Did you ever find a school in Houston. I will be moving there by this summer.
