I'm still a beginner, so I haven't had a LOT of experience with kata, but as I am learning I am starting to become more familiar. 1. Rohai. I love this kata. It has SO totally helped me gain more confidence and become better at holding my balance. I have inner ear problems, and practice the stances in this kata help me tremendously. 2. Naihanchi Shodan. Someone said this was easy to learn and hard to master. I agree. The move SEEM simple enough. But I have had difficulty with it. 3. The Kihons. Basics, basics, basics. Without them, you can't have good kata. 4. Okan. I like the power this kata generates. 5. Ku San Ku Sho. I haven't DONE this kata, but I love watching my black belts perform it. My favorite to watch.
