  1. I'm 19 here. Will be 20 pretty soon. Don't feel it though. In my mind I still feel 18. Becoming is making me feel old. I know, I know... But it's something about hitting that 2nd decade mark. And then I really can't classify myself at all as still being a teenager!
  2. My dojo sounds a lot like the way bushido_man96's is regarding discipline. There's not much troubles, but if there's too much horsing around or whatever it'll be push ups after class. Or if it's more than a few of us, hard exercises. Sensai doesn't get mad much, but when he does it's scary, and soreness next day will be a sure thing.
  3. 3 days a week, 2 hours each for karate. 1 day a week for judo (but can only make it about 1/3 of the time) for 1.5 hours
  4. I love roundhouses too. Both front and back foot. They're quick and strong. Roundhouse followed by a hammerfist and/or backfist is my favorite. Love sidekick too. Especially if I can gain the momentum and have the space to 'fly.' Fun stuff!
  5. Coming in conversation for first time here... I'd say hell no. The 'junior black belts' that came from children's class to adults when my dojo decided to cut the kids class range up to 15 have only the kids' stuff. They don't know half the stuff even me as a 2nd kyu brown belt (that started and learnt in the adult class) does. And that's just truth. They'll have to learn a lot of skill and other material before gaining my respect, as color of belt don't impress me much.
  6. I'm about 75% lefty now. When I started out, I pretty much all right, but have switched. Kinda quick, over just the few monthes really. Didn't try to switch,, it just started to feel more and more natural. Glad as I'm finally balancing out, i.e., becoming stronger on left side as right, so as not so lopsided. Just hope I don't go way to much to the left now...
