  1. He teaches in a school at Shettleston but also teaches in Bailleston.
  2. I am a black belt 2nd Dan. And I practice Shukokai Karate in Glasgow, Scotland. I became a black belt in October 1999. And got my 2nd Dan in June 2005.
  3. My last ever competition was 3 years ago and like that the girl kicked me in the mouth with a side kick, I thought I broke my jaw. Even though I was hurt I still wanted to fight in the next style of sparring - point systems semi contact. I haven't fought in a competition since, but that isn't the reason for it. It's because I got my eyes fixed with laser treatment 3 years ago and still weary incase someone punches me to the face.
  4. Try doing several repetitions of ax kick both outwards and inwards, this usually loosens up the joints really good. Also try and do some movements pivoting on the ball of your foot as this helps when doing roundhouse kick as it allows the hip movements and kick to fall into place a bit easier.

    World Cup

I honestly think that either Holland or Germany will win. Didn't see the Barcelona - Chelsea game last night as I was watching the Villarreal - Rangers game instead. Rangers outplayed Villarreal and were unlucky not to go through to the last 8.

I done that too and some of the stuff I found you can't click on the thumbnails to see what the images look like in full.
  7. It allows you to use a number of techniques in which your opponent will attack against you, giving you a wider range of counter attacks or defence moves. Kata allows you to be precise in certain movements and show off a bit however, when sparring some techniques aren't produced as presteen as they would when performing kata.
  8. I am from Glasgow. What dojo do you train in? I train down at Prestwick on a Tuesday and also train in Glasgow on Sundays. I am an instructor being a 2nd dan for Shukokai Karate, I was trained by Robin Bryce, 6th Dan and still am. However, I do know Sensei Gerry Fleming who trains in the east end of Glasgow and a few others.

Thanks for that Cathal, it is a start to trying to find something.
  10. I wear Blitz sparring gearing.
  11. Uraken is one of my faves too but again would only use it as a follow up punch rather than a starting technique during a fight.
