  1. I did a quick search and was suprised not to see anything on this. Even though a fictional martial art its still extremely cool. Here are a few videos showing it from the movie Equalibrium and Ultraviolet.

Though I don't think you can consider the fictional gun kata a kata since it is not a set of movements, instead you would constantly adapt depending on the situation.

  2. Stretching machines are a waste of money in my opinion, just use the ground, and gravity. Take a look at the second link in my signature, this guide is how I achieved my split:

    Juji says best:

No, you do not need a stretching machine. Just consider it's value for a moment. What is the logic behind paying a ton of money for a machine that can only provide one stretch position? The machine will only let you decrease or increase amplitude based on how far you turn the crank, that's not very safe. The machine doesn't even provide correct hip alignment for normal sidesplits. What a waste of money, space, and time! Skip them, they're crap!

  3. The BOB is a great product. I like it, again for improving target accuracy. It also helps you learn to kick to the head because you have to get past the broad shoulders. Also I find it is a much harder target that will condition your hands more so than a regular wave master.

  4. Wear it as much as possible, even while training at home. Don't wash it, unless you train in a dirty Dojo or outside your belt shouldn't get dirty. Though if you move up in rank fast and aren't able to wear it much it will never soften. My belt is getting that extremely soft and pliable feel to it after about 3-4 months of wear.

  5. Mirror image is really tough. All of these are really great ideas. Blindfolded is another good one.

Yes mirror image is great, we try to do everything on the left/right side equallity. This usually equates to 1 kick/kata/technique on your strong side = practice the same 3 times on your off-side.
