  1. Hi, I'm sure most of us here have heard that song "in the air tonight" by Phil Collins. Anyways, just thought that song sounded perfectly like one of those 80's martial arts flicks, especially the ones with Van Damme. You know, where the warrior is training intensively by himself. I'm curious, was that song actually in one of those films? Because if it wasn't, then it would've fitted in. I train with that song on sometimes, it's cool. What do you guys think?
  2. Just one more question, why is it better if I get it flame treated? They also sell the burnt rattan type in my catalog. Is that the one you're refering to?
  3. 1) What's the diffference between them these three styles? Just a brief and general overview would do. 2) I'm planning to buy those sticks to train; are there any differences in say, a kali or escrima stick besides the labeling? 3) I looked up the catalogs and found that they were sold in various names and prices like, "labisca sticks, rattan sticks, palasan, etc." I just want some good quality ol' fashioned plain ones to train with, nothing out of the blue, which one should I buy?
  4. Hi, I'm taking Karate and Brazilian Jujutsu. I'm trying to buy a white thick gi (the type used in grappling like judo) to use for both arts. I like it plain white and nothing else (no logos or any of that commercial design please) Can anyone give me some pointers on where to look? Thank you
  5. Thanks Tenkamusuo for replying, appreciate it. But please don't get me wrong, I'm not motivated by the video game itself, it's just that when I saw him do the enbu it captured my attention. Come on man, just look at that grace, power, and beauty from his kata. It's just that most martial arts these days concentrate too much on the external side (call it western martial arts), and it's been a while since I've seen a martial art that combines both external and internal energy in perfect harmony, hence, Jin. Even though it's a video game, you can't deny the elegance of that enbu. Thanks again, and no I'm not losing it.
  6. ok so it's not an "official" kata, but at least his moves are authentic. I want to take up the style of karate that Jin does in that enbu, is it shotokan or shorin-ryu? Or something else? Please I really need to know.
  7. Hi, I'm new here. Anyways, in Tekken 4 there is this character named Jin who practices traditional Karate. I was so amazed when I saw him perform the enbus-so much power and grace. So now I'm wondering what type of Karate does he practice? It says he does "traditional" karate, but there are so many branches of "traditional" karate these days ranging from shotokan, ishin-ryu, goju-ryu, wado, etc. etc. Anybody out there who has played Tekken 4, can you tell me specifically what type of Karate does Jin practice and shed some light on my ignorance? Thanks in advance.
